This week I wanted to share my thoughts on Marjorie Taylor Greene getting into a verbal altercation with representative Jasmine Crockett. The two clashed in a meeting where MTG first made a snide comment towards Crockett and Jasmine fired back feeling the attack was personal rebutting with a very specific jab of her own.

It sometimes feels like we gravitate towards drama than substance because no where that I personally read about the back and forth did I see mention of what the meeting was for or what they were trying to accomplish. Usually we lay the problem of not getting anything done in congress at the feet of its members only when in reality it is also our duty as citizens to hold them accountable. Spats like these capture the imagination more than bills about immigration, healthcare, social security, or gun control and so we trick ourselves into to believing our representatives are fighting for us because they’re willing to fight each other.

The committee was literally being racist. MTG had been popping off all day. Crockett responded in kind and, being a black woman, was met with the whole Colonel Sanders style "ordahhh, ordahhhh, this is outrageous!!" style BS.

I'm so glad Josh covered Rep. Jasmine Crockett's polite inquiry about the boundaries of personal attacks on the House floor. The first time I heard what she said reported, I laughed uncontrollably!

AOC's "girl, baby girl" = flashing a Glock line was also great.
