Megatron was the definition of badass in this show. They way he transforms, speaks, fights, and even walks

“You and your beast will do well to remember. I hold my skills in the pits of kaon.” That line right there shows how much of a badass he is, he might not be a prime, but he could hold his own. The motherfucker was a gladiator, he’s not someone who can go down easy.

Megatron was taken by surprise, trapped in cave where he couldn't use his flight mode nor could he throw this opponent away to gain distance. His almighty fusion canon deactivated by Arachnid and going up against an unnaturally strong and fast insecticon( even base insecticons can beat most members of tema prime in melee combat) that also thanks to Arachnids mind control didnt seem to feel pain or exhaustion. All of these disadvantages and he still came out on top with enough of en edge to take serval short breaks just to gloat and monologue. Even knocked down his opponent so hard he got the time to look around the area and notice Optimus + greet him. I swear there were like 4 or 5 times he could have killed the thing but chose to take his time spiting at Arachnid instead. The man is just an absolute beast.

4:55 May seem like a wasted opportunity but I loved the repercussions of this moment. After this, Megatron is paranoid that Optimus is now getting desperate to end the war by any means necessary, which causes a lot of incidents and mishaps throughout the events in the future (such as the use of the Spark Extractor as well as Megatron using Dark Energon to repair the Nemesis)
