Phoenix FD for 3ds Max – Quick Start: Basic Liquids

Показать описание

This video covers the basic workflow for creating a basic liquid simulation in Phoenix FD for 3ds Max, using both a toolbar preset, and then again manually, step-by-step for good measure. By the end of it, you will be able to create your own liquid simulation, understand how the simulation interacts with other objects, and know the basics of editing a number of primary settings for a sim.

Nice Tutorial. Now I want to try to level up my opportunity with your terrific Product. Trust in Chaos is on my book from the V.Ray Beta Version.

You add an object and suddenly the water pours into it but you forgot to mention how to add this said object to the simulation. I tried to add the glass jar as an interaction object in the simulation but the liquid keeps pouring into the rectangle simulation and just doesn't calculate the jar. Could you please advise ?

Ok, Phoenix FD is sooo buggy. I added two emitters to the same water simulation. Only one of them worked. And you cannot change the rate individually. They both share the same water emitting rate. So then I made two water simulations. The first one works as expected. The next one uses the first emitter even though I have specified a completely separate emitter. It seems like it is baking the animation too but there are no key frames to erase. It is just stuck somewhere in the back end. The second water simulation uses all the settings from the first even though the values are all set correctly. Trying to erase everything and start over completely uses the original animation which is why I think it is baking the animation somewhere I can't find.
