Tu 22M3 'Backfire' bomber of Russian Air Force may be set for long-term deployment in Syria !

Russian Tupolev Tu-22M3s, NATO reporting name “Backfire”, twin-engine supersonic bombers seem to be operating from Syria.

Photos and videos apparently taken in Syria’s coastal Latakia province have appeared on Twitter as well as other social media platforms suggesting that the bombers are operating from Khmeimim airbase.

Viewers may note that there has been a lot of work has been done on the base in recent times in the base, with runways being extended to accommodate large aircraft.
The base is currently used by Russia.

Tu-22M3 is a deadly adversary and its presence in Syria is has major implications.

Russia is only trying to show their tech cause they’ve fallen so far behind the west.. their pictures of f35’s and f22’s from their own war planes were in Syrian airspace and were taken with the knowledge of the US airmen in those planes. It like the footage they released of their “spetnaz” or some other group “chasing” US military vehicles in the desert.
Propaganda period.. any country that thinks they can take the US in a conventional war, after our decades of operating in war zones?
Good luck, you might be able to move us out or a region for short periods, but there’s no think tanks that think American would lose a war, even with multiple adversaries.
