U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, took to the Senate floor to lay out how important nondefense discretionary (NDD) funding is to families’ wellbeing, people’s safety, and our country’s competitiveness and future—and to underscore the need for Congress to provide more than the 1% increase in nondefense funding provided for by the Fiscal Responsibility Act in FY25.

My thoughts on shortfalls in budget is due to unfair tax rates for some. Those billionaires and corporations have for the last few decades had almost zero oversight on monopolies. Some few control so much as in manufacturing, energy, transportation, communications, water supply, food production and even service sectors. The need to have competition in the market place should help lower some cost for average Americans. Balance the tax burden to ALL citizens.

If Dems would stop giving away money to people who don’t pay taxes (illegal immigrants etc) or paying off student loans etc we would have why more money in the tax coffers.
