Never reduce water.Your vet will tell you never do that. All dogs are different some take longer than others .Always keep calm when they make a mess and take them outside. When they do things outside loads of praise and a piece of chicken works great. Loads of patience is key.

I recognised your voice straight away from listening to your book on spotify.
Ive got a 18week old Cane Corso at the moment which i have had 5 weeksish after my sister realised she wouldnt be able to handle him after 4 weeks.

Hes doing great training wise, if anything i think im enjoying it more than anybody else😂 having to find every little trick and tip and try and apply it to him is great for us both, and he is getting a lot of training in a short period.

One thing i am struggling (not sure struggling is the right word) ive only start to teach him heel in the last few days because ive started to take him out on a long line a bit more and let him explore in parks, he loves this but then when he comes back onto the normal line (also changes from long line on harness to collar on leash) to walk home he wants to roam further so i have to correct him a lot.
I think he is getting the hang of me correcting him, but he is literally a brute already (19kgs @18weeks) and he isnt massively fazed by the lead corrections and will just bounce straight into the next one seconds later.

Am i confusing him by trying to do both types of walks at once (i suspect i am) and if that was the case would i be better to train him to be on one rather than the other?
In the future he will obviously be walked more on his normal leash but the skills from being off lead/long line would be more beneficial once he learns them id think?

Speaking of playtime; when does play time between dogs start going too far? I know this is a vague question but had two husky puppies in the past that would do things like dragging the other across the floor by the ear. No yelping or anything on the part of that dog. We’d always monitor them.

Our new puppy refuses to potty outside. We’ve been out there for hours and nothing. Bring him in and within 2 min he pees. He is doing this consistently. How can we change that?

First of all I love your training videos! I’m following your guidelines for toilet training during the day but my question is about toilet training at night. It’s quite cold here atm so our 81/2 week old Rottweiler puppy is inside at night. He’s sleeping great and not whining anymore once he settles down, however when I get up in the morning he’s has pee’d all over the floor. I don’t blame him at all, he’s still learning- what am I doing wrong? Should I be waking him up at night and taking him outside? Or is this normal for this age? What can I do? Please help!

What about toilet training at night. Everyone always puts videos about during the day never night. Dog is trained during day but she won't do nothing outside before bed no matter how long she's out there then does it all during night. She's 18months rescue. I can't find nothing on night training

Play a game: they get excited and pee on the carpet. If its blowing a gale and pouring with rain, get a tow truck to drag them outside.

I feel like I’m failing my dog I don’t know what I’m doing wrong she’s 4 1/2 months old. I take her out every 30 minutes 16 hours a day after naps after playtime and after feeding and watering and I’ve cut down the water she gives no indicator when she needs to go to the bathroom as I have extensively studied dog body language she gives no cues no sniffing no eye contact not going by the door no whining nothing I will take her out to go to the bathroom. I will wait 2025 minutes she won’t do her business. I bring her back inside Bam. She’s gone to the bathroom inside. I clean it up immediately, so no smells set in. I don’t know what else to do. I’m at a loss please help me. What more can I do??? My husband suggested just chaining her up outside but if I wanted a lawn ornament, I would’ve gotten a garden. No, I wanted to add another member to our family, but it’s making it very difficult for her to co exist in our home.

Also, I would like to add, I am rewarding good potty Haviar, when it does happen, which is extremely rare

Hah! Not my fault, it’s the dogs fault

Sometimes it is their fault 😂 Let me explain...I had a Bassett hound, and when he was a puppy, I would take him out to potty before I left the house. I would be gone less than 10 minutes, and he would pee in his kennel. If we were home, no accidents. Eventually he stopped doing that every time we left, but man oh man I know he was doing it on purpose! 😆

Small dogs don't train the same as big dogs. All small dogs piss in the house.
