In this video, Razer|Mjolnir gives you an exclusive look on the inner contents of the Razer Ironclad.

The Razer Ironclad isn't just any regular mouse mat. It's Razer's premium mouse mat made with an anodized aluminum body and a sandblasted surface to ensure that your mouse glides on a surface which is second to nothing when it comes to smoothness and comfort.

The Destructor brand new was one of the nicest feeling mouse pads I've ever tried, but it wore out after a little less than a year. If this this thing can give a similar glide, but never where out like they say, then definitely worth it.

Think I'm looking at the replacement of my eXactMat. :)

My eXactMat turned 5 years old, and the surface is... battered now. I'll need to look at replacements sooner or later.

I currently use a mouse pad that came with my Alienware 7500. It grips the surface well, the top is pretty hard, and I've got no complaints with it.

The main reason I'd buy the Ironclad is mostly just so I can replace my current pad with something newer. Still, I might get it or I might not. Tough call for me at least.

@XxSTRlKERxX depends... It can actually make it rougher... That way mice would track better on it... I think this has been sandblaster to make it rough, not smooth...

Looks awesome, but aluminum transfers heat really fast so it'll make your hand cold. I had one in aluminum before and I really hated it some times, you get somewhat used to it, but I prefer Razer Destructor (without have testing this new one).

I've had mine for a good 4 months now no peeling or any issues here. To be honest it actually does make a difference, before I was using around 1200 - 1800 DPi comfortably. But I now use around 4000 - 4500 DPi with ease. I think the main problem with the peeling is people are just gaming TOO MUCH.. This is meant for tournament use, not 10 hours a day for three months straight.

Hey Razer.... if that mat is borderline bullet proof, what's the point of the case then? Still awesome mat. When I'm ready to upgrade from my Sphex, I'll be going after the Ironclad.

About 1.5 yrs ago I bought a Razer eXactMat. One of the best purchases I've made, I absolutely love it. It's been discontinued since then. Let's compare the specs:

eXactMat: 330mm (L) x 265mm (W) x 2.5mm (H)
Ironclad: 320 mm (L) x 270mm (W) x 2.5mm (H)

eXactMat is bigger, has dual surface for speed or control, is aluminum, was half the price ($30), and game with a gel wrist rest. Razer is lowering the value of their products and raising the prices.

Frankly, you had me at "hard gaming" ... BUT! Just what kind of thickness are we talking here on the anodization? Type III? Please say Type III...

@XxSTRlKERxX
Could you explain more details why "sandblasted" surface would have longer lasting mouse feet than "flat" aluminum surface? I'm a hard-pad guy and very interesting on this one. Thank you in advance :)

I SERIOUSLY wish that these pads didn't have the surface issues.. It looks so damn nice but how can Razer expect you to buy something that will only last a few weeks?
