i have been using this for over a year now .. if you have sleep apnea it is a Must have! it not only monitors your o2 drops but will give you a full report in the morning of o2 and hear rate .. as well as you can set alarms to wake you if your o2 starts to drop .. a cpap machine won’t show you any info on your o2 level .. just breathing pauses.
it’s extremely important to monitor your o2 and minimize your drops under 90%

It was very fortuitous that I happened upon this video several minutes ago. I was doing online research regarding why in the world I have started not being able to breathe at night on the CPAP. 6 months ago Phillips sent me the new dream station 2 because of the recall and for the past 6 months I have had bad breathing issues that has seemed to carry over into the daytime hours. I mentioned yesterday to my pulmonologist that I now easily have daytime oxygen levels of anywhere from 85% - 92 percent regularly during the day. She suggested a oximeter overnight test, and that's how I happen to find your video looking up information. Sadly, I have learned more about my CPAP usage of 5 years from online videos such as yours, instead of getting this information from sleep doctors. I cannot thank you enough for these videos. One doctor yesterday mentioned the term hypoventilation syndrome, and thought the CPAP might be causing this. I have never heard that term so I'm going to look it up. Have you done any videos regarding the exchanging of gases, or any on carbon dioxide build up and cpap? I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out if the CPAP, or it's various settings and pressures they have put me on this last year, our responsible for me not being able to breathe well during the day. Thank you so much for your informative videos!

I have the o2 ring - it works great. I used to check the difference b/t iNAP and CPAP, and also wore during the day as a control. It clearly showed that when I lost seal with the iNAP my o2 was going down. Long story short - this is a great product...

I've been using the model that has a wrist band, and a cable with the type sensor on the finger. Been using for four months now. When diagnosed last year, the study showed breathing stopped for thirty seconds and my O2 level dropped to mid 80s. I have an alarm that buzzes the sensor when the level drops below 91. it wakes me up to a point where I start to breathe. It has minimized the drops and time below 90%. My model is the Sleep Ring and doesn't tolerate excessive movement, like exercising.

I am so glad that you are reviewing this ring. I was just at my pulmonologist showing him my desaturations from my nightly data. There were some times it would vibrate to warm me of low ox when I was awake and still. He told me I had to have been moving. I'm sure there are times I was, but there were many I was just laying still on my side.

Jason, I think most Oscar users would benefit from it. The biggest drawback is the 4s sp02 resolution which misses some RERAs fluctuations and 3% desaturations. The biggest value is the heart rate data combined with movement data. Oscar pulse change events when HR goes up and movements capture most arousals during the night. Then details can be zoomed in and investigated further based on flow rate and other Oscar data. Importing into Oscar is also very quick and easy.

I love this thing. Comfortable and user friendly.

This is a great product. They will break at about 1.5 years of use but is still well worth it.

Do you know which professional ones the hospitals use? When sending patients home with pulse oximetry devices.
Thanks...

Is the Sleep HQ O2 ring actually a Wellue O2 ring? They look the same, and when I was looking for Sleep HQ O2 ring, my search kept taking me to Wellue. Will the Wellue work with Sleep HQ program? Thanks for all of your great information, Jason.

If it diagnoses or treats a medical condition it has to have FDA approval (USA), likely similar requirements in other countries. I'm surprised thermometers don't have to have the disclaimer.

Just use the Getwellue Microsoft windows tool and look for any dives in oxygen and note the time. Then quickly switch to Oscar and find the same spot in time, and see if anything was registered in Oscar.

And be careful not to get fooled, if the clock on your cpap doesn't match the time on the oxygen ring(like when DST changes happens and you forget to set the time again on the cpap....like I did one time. ;-) ).

I have really very small amount of apnea events during my sleep. Normally less than 2, a lot of times less than 1 per hour. I use the ResMed AirSense 11 in APAP mode 11.4 - 19 and normally my 95% is around 12.8. But I have really bad oxygen desaturation during the night. Sometimes going as low as 80%. I have some RERAs according to my SD card data that I look at in Oscar. Would you have any thoughts or explanation on why my oxygen levels are so low when I sleep? Thanks, Jason.

I would like to know how to transfer my information from my ring to Oscar? Do I need to create a different Profile or not. Thanks

I'm looking myself for something like that....hesitate between apple and Samsung watch too....but seem pricey juste to know my oxygen level at night....there are a bunch of oximeter under 100$ that can do the trick and are compatible with Oscar....not sur if the ring are really accurate about sleep stage?!

I am looking forward to your discoveries, particularly ow it interfaces with OSCAR, which does not stae it is copatible with Wellue products

I had a ring like that for ten days until my dog destroyed it. For Christmas, I was gifted the CheckmeO2, which has the electronics separate from the sensor. I am very pleased with it, and it is helping me work on some sleep problems with my new BIPAP.

I would like to let you know that their customer service is very responsive, even though there is a delay due to using email.

On question I have for you is: what should my SPO@ levels be during sleep. Mine has been running over 94%.

I had a sleep titration a year ago and was switched from CPAP to BIPAP. I was on oxygen for sleep, but taken off with the BIPAP. My sleep has been terrible on BIPAP, due to leakage, and ii wonder if oxygen would help.

Thanks for your videos - they have been a huge help
