New Google Trend: This will change the way you write content.

Back in the day when I started blogging the average result that was on page 1 of Google had 2,300 plus words.

Then a few years ago it dropped down to 1,447 words.

And more recently we have continually seen the word count go down.

Just think about it, we love short-form content.

The average TikTok user spends 95 minutes a day... consuming short content.

Here’s the average word count for articles that companies are creating per industry.

I rank #1 way more with longer content. Google just wants the answer in the first heading. Then you can add what ever you want. Just get to the point and google will reward you😊

I swear it is so frustrating because it's like a moving target that you're never going to hit. I used to write content that was 350 to 500 words and then work to expand it all to 1500 or more and now I'm supposed to make it short again. I feel like by the time I get it all short again it'll be time to make it long again

Make sure the article is scannable initially and easily readable and engaging, you should be ok.... maybe include a short form video overview of the content embedded into the article for people that have lost the ability to read

To battle this, I'd write and publish a 2000+ word deliverable, then chop it up and post those snippets onto other platforms, like in a LinkedIn post, Facebook post, etc.
