First off, sorry I have been gone for a while. I have been on vacation so I have been unable to post any more of my series. However, I did have time to put together this video on Doo-Wop music.
Doo-wop (sometimes doo-wopp) is a style of vocal-based rhythm and blues music developed in African American communities in the 1940s, achieving mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. Built upon vocal harmony, doo-wop was one of the most mainstream, pop-oriented R&B styles of the time. After finish this video I came to the conclusion that doo-wop didn't evolve much, but it's still nice to have all the top doo-wop songs wrapped up into one video.

Song list:
1953 The Orioles - Crying in the Chapel 0:05
1954 The Crew Cuts - Sh-Boom 0:30
1954 The Chords - Sh-Boom 0:55
1954 The Penguins - Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine) 1:20
1955 The Moonglows - Sincerely 1:45
1955 The Platters - The Great Pretender 2:10
1955 The Platters - Only You 2:35
1956 The Five Satins - In the Still of the Nite 3:00

1957 The Dominoes with Billy Ward - Star Dust 3:50
1957 Danny & The Juniors - At the Hop 4:15
1958 The Platters - Twilight Time 4:40
1958 The Platters - Smoke Gets in Your Eyes 5:05
1959 The Flamingos - I Only Have Eyes for You 5:30

I'm 79 and sang along with each and every one of these wonderful 50's beauties. I had my radio on every minute I was home as a youth and listened to them on our 9 to midnight local " Cinderella Ballroom" radio show...Jr high rocked with these great songs. Takes me immediately to school dance and that special dance with your first big puppy love. I was amazed I could name the group of each. Thank you for posting this. Started my day off with a " shoop shoop do wahh" 🎶🎵🎶

I was born in the early 80s, but my parents were both born in the 40s and grew up with this wonderful music. They got me into it when I was a kid and teenager and I discovered more doo wop groups as I got older. So many memories of these songs connect me to my parents. I'll have to show my mom this video sometime. thanks for posting! Love it!

In the 60's I had a 1957 studebaker hawk and I would pick up Mary-lou and these songs were always on the car radio as we would just cruise the beat and listen to them. both Mary-Lou and my little Studebaker Hawk are long since gone now and I really miss them both, , What I would give to have them both  back again and to cruise the beat just once more.great memories,

I was 4 in '53. By '64 I turned 15. I still remember listening to that great music on a transistor radio while riding around on my Schwinn!

I was 13, when This music Started. The 50's had the best Romantic Song melodies, some of the best groups, Dick Clark, Alan Freed, and others showcasing this music. Great time to be growing up, loads of fun in an innocent time..Thank You for bringing back these memories..

Doo-Wop songs help to give meaning to the meaning of "soul music". At 74 when I listen to this music all the beauty of life comes back. I know too that the soul is eternal.

I'm a huge fan of hard hitting metal and rock for nearly 30 years but there's this one spot in my heart for 50's classics like these ones. So much heart and soul...the feel and all, very nostalgic. Thanks for the work put into the compilation.

Best music I have ever heard. Grew up in the Bronx in the 50s and 60s and listening to these songs brings back so many memories. Wish I could go back just for a day. Have all these 45s in my juke box.

The voice of that lead singer for “The Platters” is otherworldly. Magnificent!

However. I have to say that all of these groups were great.

There should be all across this United States a revisal of all these great doo wop songs from 1952 on. Not only great melodies but special harmony of great voices & special words that has meant so much to all of us from those days. The young people need to hear the best music that opened doors for the songs today & in the future.
