Scientists Say the Universe Could STOP Expanding ‘REMARKABLY SOON’ marking the end of days.

It all began some 13.8 billion years ago from a hot, dense, rapidly expanding state known as the Big Bang. This is the best possible theory we know of how the universe came to be, a question that has been the basis of humanity’s existential crisis from the moment we gained the ability to think.
But that is only half the answer to half of the question. There is a flip side to this existential crisis. We have always been morbidly curious to not only seek the knowledge about how it all started but also how it would all come to an end.

Some think the universe will keep on expanding till it tears itself into shreds or all stars will die out causing the universe to freeze as there will be no heat. But some believe that the universe will stop expanding and begin collapsing onto itself until everything crushes itself back into a singularity. And according to scientists, this may happen sooner than you think.

Welcome to Factnomenal, and today let’s find out when and how the universe will start shrinking again marking the end of days.

😱 How do you think the universe will end?

Much respect to the camera man for floating around out there and filming those amazing images for us 😅

There’s only two outcomes for the universe. Either it goes through a big freeze and fundamentally ceases to exist, in which case the multi verse theory takes reign so that existence of something always happens. Or there is only one universe and it’s cyclical as described in this video. I do not believe that there can be a point where nothing exists.

The end of the universe cannot happen fast enough for me to enjoy it.

If it expanded to it's current size and started to shrink, how long would it take for us to notice it's size decreasing? When we look out in space we are looking back in time also.

If the big crunch theory is correct and it leads to another big bang i wonder how many times the cycle has happened already. Will our present universe be the first to experience this, or have there already been countless others befor us and were just next in a never ending line?

While I, too, believe the universe is cyclic, this thinking is an outlier today. We are incredibly young compared to our universe and also incredibly arrogant to think that we can fathom its secrets in our short existence.

I believe in the "Red Balloon" theory. (Don't worry if you have never heard of it, I just made it up.) The multiverse is a series of universes each contained with a red balloon. As out universe expands, the adjacent universes must contract, as ours contracts, those next to us will expand.
There, my brilliant theory of the universe - kurzgesagt, as the Germans say!
Personally, I don't care. By the time any of this happens, I will be long gone!

I have often wondered if Gravity and Dark Energy were the same thing. Sort of 2 sides of the same coin. In the presence of matter, it becomes attractive, in the absence, it becomes repulsive.

"it all began some 13 billion years ago.." and a couple hundred years ago "it all started a few thousand years ago.." i wonder what the narrative will be in a few centuries.

I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon. I have a vacation coming up.

The universe exhibits opposites in every way. Protons & Electrons, waves with crests & troughs, light waves act like particles, and particles act like waves, magnetic forces that attract and repel, matter & space, even time can run smoothly or dilate and stop (at relativistic speeds); and there’s gravity (the attractive force) and dark energy (the repulsive force). The universe is designed with this opposition in every way. So is logical that the universe itself would eventually turn to an opposite state, and begin to contract. This could lead to a “Big Crunch”, possibly followed by another Big Bang, and a new start to another universe.

The big crunch won't be so bad, big bang big crunch, over and over again living our life's over and over again. We are all just a part of the universe.

Saying the universe has a beginning and and end is like saying energy can be created and destroyed. And we all know it can't be created or destroyed. The universe just has an neverending loop of destruction and creation.
