You don't need a lot of fancy, expensive toys to help with your child's gross motor skill development. In this video you'll learn the top 4 toys I recommend for gross motor development that are safe and won't break the bank.

These are all tons of fun for your little one as well as being developmentally beneficial.

Each of them will also help work on those all important gross motor skills that are so important for major body movement such as walking, maintaining balance, coordination, and reaching. They're also vital for play and even impact academic skills later in life.

Just a reminder to parents that although these items are great recommendations, they're still not necessary!
I grew up in a poorer family that DID have toys but not any of these activities (except a ball!) or other item with promised benefits. My siblings and I all hit our milestones on track or early (I started walking at 8 months).

Out of ease and frugality, my parents let us play on the floor, at the park, at jungle gyms - all free. My Mom was a HUGE fan of Chuck E. Cheese and McDonald's for their free play places - we would stay there for HOURS. Free water and bathrooms, cheap food at McD (though I wouldn't suggest THAT part now), endless play and social interactions.

All to say, you're good.all extra things are extra. If you're watching these kinds of videos, you're clearly a parent who cares, who is/will be attentive, and will spend time with your Babies. Those go way further toward your Babies' growth and development than most any toy.

I got the baby gym when my baby was 3 months because I saw in one of your videos the recommendation. She’s almost 12 months and still loves it!

Now that my baby is 14months, I've realised that A LOT of the toys out there which are supposedly 'perfect' for the development of our babies are actually just marketing jargon and my baby does not really need it! However, If I had to recommend one I would put my money in a push walker! She is so used to pushing it now that she pushes everything she can find in the same way and walks around the house with a box! 😀It helps to learn to walk for sure! Thank you Emma I love love love your videos! 💜

I was literally looking for a new toy for my baby today, but then realized she likes to play with empty water bottles, her dirty laundry, her broom, her books . Pretty anything but her toys..lol

Hi Emma, I love your videos and often refer people to your channel for evidence based advice. My daughter is 7 months old and I was wondering what floor seat/portable chair you would recommend for her.

Hi Emma. Is there a video of yours that talks about when to drop the bottle, how to transition, and/or bottle alternatives?

Hi Emma. Is it better to have a walker and activity table each or can it be the 2 - 1 option. Many of the walkers can transform into a table but not sure if this is something that's better to be seperate?

I don't know how I found my way to this side of YouTube. I'm not a parent and have no plans to ever be a parent. But...honestly, this is all super interesting anyway!

Hi, my boy is almost 12 months and he can’t sit, crawl or stand yet. Doctors said he is ok, but more slow. So it’s very difficult to found good toys, can you recommend something please?

Hi! Do you have any tips on wooden activitytables? Or what to look for in a table? (Size and type of activities?) from what age is it suitable? :)
