Working on a Salary or on a Commission base which one is better and why? Everyone has an opinion, but today we're going to talk about the facts.

What is Salary: This is a job that pays you a steady paycheck every week, and it comes with benefits, all you have to do is work for at least 40 years and then you can retire and live in peace. And as bonus parents go crazy about it

Pros of Salary Job:
- Steady paycheck
- Benefits: health insurance, life insurance and even 401k contribution matching in some cases
- 50k is the average salary 3-4 times higher than the poverty level
- Social security
- You receive free training
- 10-19 paid vacation days
- Easy to find a job
- Paid education if you want to keep growing
- Consistent environment
- Happy parents lol
Cons:
- Earning ceiling
- Risky because of your working for someone else

Overall Thoughts: A salary provides two things security and predictability, and that’s about it. It means that you'll have the security of knowing hey I get paid today this amount for the rest of my life with 4-8% increase annually if im lucky and I also know what's going to happen every day.

Commission Based
Pros of commission
- No Earning Ceiling
- Less Risky
- You get paid on results not your time
- Unlimited vacation days
- Can work from home or in an office or a jet
- Freedom to create your life
- Tax benefits ( deducting your expenses from your income)
- A constant state of learning
- Create more value
- Paid your worth

Cons:
- Your parents won't be happy
- Time and unpredictability

Facts:
- Most people are afraid of commission jobs because they are worried they won't get paid
- And I know this because I was scared also.

Final Thoughts
- I've never seen things black and white; i believe there are roads for everyone to follows and sacrifices to be made. And only you can decide.
- You can ask your employer to hire you as a business and then get paid more on your efforts and have more freedom
- Remember whatever skills you think you lack, you could always work a salary job, learn the skills and then do It yourself for your own business

Do you Currently have a commission base job or a Salary job? Also, a tip, if you want to earn more money consider telling your employer to high you on a 1099, meaning your self employed. Even though you'll lose the benefits, you will have tax deductions that will outway the cost.

As tough as commission is, it's worth it if you value your time.

DO NOT TAKE A COMMISSION (direct sales being the worst) ONLY JOB IF YOU'RE UNEMPLOYED without 2 to 3 months of personal savings to live on. Tons of employment recruiters prey on people that immediately need work. I've had them sell me a dream and I ended up just driving for Lyft, Uber and Door Dash to keep steady income until another salary job offer.

I made the mistake of doing real estate right out of college. I didn't have enough money saved up and had some debt and I was looking to move out my parents. It was hard for me to focus and I had to take enough job that was minimum wage. I ended up getting burnt out. If you decide to do commission only like real estate... make sure to have a plan, a strong mentor and enough to live comfortably for at 6 months because it will get discouraging and stressful.

Working an hourly job right now, been working hourly jobs for the past 5 years and it’s all I’ve ever worked. Got an offer for a 100% commission based job in home improvement sales. Nervous af but excited for the opportunity

Been in a commission only role in Australia for 3 and a halve years. I couldnt agree more. I earn more in 1/10 of the time and can live a more carefree life onstead of being in a 9-5. Loved the video ! 🔥💥

I have a GED and make 120k/yr gross. 40% salary, 60% commissions but commissions are taxed by like 42%.

Wireless (cellphone sales) were golden when I was 20.

However after 13 years of doing this.. I'm very close to leaving it behind to open my own TCG and reselling business. Sucks to lose the stability but at 33 my happiness is becoming more important.

I am unemployed and I am trying to figure this out. I have only worked salary jobs and they have gotten me no where in life. So, i am wondering if it is worth it to work a commission paid job . In my mind, those are slightly paid volunteer positions. Now, I am thinking maybe it is time to change and challenge that old belief. The world is way different than it used to be.

Done with 9-5 it’s time to hustle and do 100% commission. That’s the only way I can properly fund my career. Thank you for this

Wow, you have 51 comments from a 300 viewed video. 🙌 I usually see 12, 000 views and only like 3 comments. That just shows you your content is amazing, thanks for the video.

All these huge company’s promise a benefit package, 20-25$ an hour, 401k, and the dream. Then you see employees getting cut when revenue slips, worker comp not paid, and buisness going bankrupt… Amazon, yellow, ford etc! Commission is the best route I ever took, advanced through my company by building my knowledge and tripled my income year after year. 60k, 95k, 130k all at 22 years old with no college degree. FYI, every high paying field is performance based. I wouldn’t go to the doctor who had 3/10 successful surgery’s. Would you choose the Lawyer that only won 3/10 trials? Get out of the old school thinking your friends and family believe and live your life financially free!

Great video Tommy. I’m currently a independent contractor (1099). I outsource my skill sets to two different companies so far. I love the flexibility of being self employed and working from home. Less stressful and more freedom! I’m actually on-boarding as we speak with a financial services company on a commission based pay. This will be my first commission based venture, but I’m looking forward to it. But more importantly, I’m looking forward to helping people obtain financial freedom!

Commission only is the only way I see fit for me. My problem is I was forced to step back temporarily because I made the leap with little savings and I didn't make a sale in time to cover my responsibilities. It also put me in a state of being anxious because I needed the money, that made it harder to make a sale. Sales is all about mindset. Now I'm going to work full time and focus on my business part time and eventually part time and work on business full time. Ideally I'll jump straight to my business full time exclusively. The great thing is I'm in alternative business lending so the commissions are large enough to allow me to accumulate large amounts quickly

I get what you are saying, Tommy. You are not talking about commission based jobs. You are talking about commission based work or businesses. There is a disfunction and I totally agree with you. What I like the most about your video is that you are not promoting a product, but discussing a serious topic. Cool! I'm going to share your video on my Facebook business page. Thanks!

I currently work a salary/hourly based job. Interested in switching to a sales position, which is commission based, and wondering how it works.

I’ve been working at a warehouse for almost 6 years now. Everything you said about not getting paid enough for hard work is true. I work harder than my coworkers but we all get paid the same so what’s the point? I’ve tried slowing down and not working so fast but it has just gotten unfulfilling. Im making a steady income but all my time is being spent here when i would rather have more time to spend with my family. Thank you for the advice, i’ll look into commission jobs.

Great video! I'm starting a commission only job in the online advertising space outside the U.S. How do you mentally prepare yourself for commission only jobs? Also can you please elaborate on the multiple streams of income and how you started with that? Also what was your earning and what do you earn now? I know it's private but a ball park range would be good to know what's possible. Thanks
