Tens of thousands of Poles marched through Warsaw – many carrying Polish flags, and some far-right paroles, or even neo-fascist symbols. The annual Independence Day march event is organised by the country’s far right.

Hi, I completely disagree with calling this march "far-right" and talking nonsense about flags against something... I was there with my son, it was a Great Polish Holiday, Patriotic Independence Day (not far-right), there were about 100 thousand Polish flags and even more people. Don't focus on the right side you want to show that great celebration as something wrong... It was a Polish holiday for people who love our Country and want it free, independent with happy citizens. It was a Great Holiday FOR, not against.

In other countries, holidays were established in the spirit of grief and horror at the enormous human cost of the war, and they mark the sacrifices of those who fought.

For Poland, however, the tragedy of the war was tempered by what had been accomplished at its end: the restoration of a sovereign Polish state that had been lost entirely in the partitions of Poland, after 123 years of struggle. The Polish holiday is therefore simultaneously a celebration of the reemergence of a Polish state and a commemoration of those who fought for it.

It's our independence day, not just far right rally. The far right party in Poland gets less votes than AFD in Germany. Stop calling us far right just because people display the flag.
