We might be back in another aircraft hangar for this episode to look at a new electric car, but this time we were allowed to touch it! The Mokka-e from Vauxhall is their new electric version of their popular Mokka model which is also available as a petrol and diesel version. It's a compact SUV, but a small one, with interesting design details and a really appealing look. This is a pre-production model so we couldn't try out all the features but it's a great example of how electric cars are getting better and we're sure this will be popular when it's launched next year. After this sneak peek we're looking forward to taking the Mokka-e for a spin in the new year.

Robert you’re the David Attenborough of the Electric World... and I think he would also be very pleased with your work.
Thank you, great job! 👍

Someone in the maths department multiplied rather than divided. Its 181Wh/km not 466Wh/km converting from 290Wh/mi.

£30, 000 after they've had a government subsidy?! Are they on drugs or are they just relying on the people who get their cars on leases rather than buying them? Personally I'm a 2nd hand car buyer so perhaps I just have a heavy bias against spending £30k on any car, though for that price I'd expect a lot more than a relatively small EV with a 150 mile range.

For fellow non-Brits, "Vauxhall" is what they call Opel in the UK.

This is basically the production version of the GT X experimental concept car they showed a few years back, and I love this!
Like, the vizor, the body shape, the wheelhubs. even the instrument cluster!

Pre-production communicates a manufacturer's intent to produce. In the EV evolution, this is good to see

i like that the charge port door continues down to the fender trim. looks better than just a square or circle slapped in the middle of a panel.

A left-hand drive Vauxhall, that’s a rarity!

Just want to say that I really appreciate the shorter video format. I recognize it would have been longer if the car was more functional, however, you were able to get all of the info to us in that time (inclusive of comments;) Really appreciate all that you do Robert!

Trivium: the original Russian word for station was вокзал (vokzal), after Vauxhall station in London

I really do like the way you comment the cars, Robert. Very clear and humoristic. It’s a wonderful time we living in as ‘motorhead’, some many new carbrands, types of cars and electrificiation things are going on. Never a dull moment 😉

I think Vauxhall are starting at the right end of the market size wise, with the Corsa e and now the Mokka e. Well done them. Really cool colours too. Just waiting to see what an ID2 from VW will look like.

Vauxhall to Robert "Please don't lick the car, we didn't think that we would have to ask you that".

Now that’s better, much more like the sort of BEV that will move the market on. Looking forward to the test next year.👍
