I hope they bring back Ling and extend more onto Patty and Selma encountering certain situations. It would be interesting if Selma took a more compassionate turn while Patty kept a more selfish turn. Even early on, it was hinted Selma was slightly nicer- she was the one that told Marge her husband Homer was working at a fast food place while Patty stayed completely silent. Imagine if they expanded on Selma quitting smoking for the sake of Ling and having massive arguments with Patty over raising Ling.

After thinking about it a bit, I am led to believe Patty is the reason Selma is so harsh on Ling. Selma actually wanted to spoil Ling with love. Patty is the one known to constantly pressure Selma.
