Political satire isn't Fallon's game. He's trying here, but it's lazy. It's popcorn comedy. Prom king comedy. In the Trump age, people will want smart and insightful satire. That's why Colbert is beating him and will continue to beat him. Playing ping pong with the Kardashians was fine when Obama was President and the country was largely stable. Now, in national crisis, people want and deserve something a bit meatier than this clown.
