Friday Feels is here. This is one of my favourite songs about dancing. It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson and released in 1976. This goes out to all the Bicentennials. I ❤️ y'all.

Tim DeLaney did sound.
Andrew Woodman did pictures.

I found my Dancing Queen in 1967 while in Viet Nam. On leave that year, I stopped at her home up north, she met me at the airport, no words, just a look, a smile, then that kiss. Welcome home. Only intending to stay for a few days, I was there for two weeks and brought her home with me to Texas. My Dancing Queen. She was with me for two more weeks before I went back to Viet Nam. When finished with the war, surviving several wounds, I went to her and brought her home forever. Abba came out with this song which became one of our favorites. I told her they must have heard me calling her my little Dancing Queen, my love. But then, on New Years Eve of 79, on the way home from a friends party, it all came to an end. I survived once more. I am 70 now, with only one Dancing Queen in my heart, still, after all this time. Puddles, you have made me smile once more. Thank you.

Pushing 70 and this version brings tears to my eyes. I was once a Dancing Queen, there are memories... The only regrets are that I can no longer dance that way.
Thanks.

I never imagined that Dancing Queen could be a sad song, but Puddles, oh Puddles, your plaintive vocals and spare instrumentation, at just the right tempo, turned it into an elegy.

Extraordinary.

This is disturbingly beautiful! Never thought I'll find my guilty pleasure in an ABBA song, then agIn it's Puddles. He can do anything, and he does.

This song came out around the time I met my late husband.
I quietly celebrated what would have been our 41st Anniversary on August 27.
Today on this day we were on our honeymoon in Nova Scotia.
This song always sends me back to then as we loved it and it was always playing on the radio at that time.
My husband would have loved this version as I do.
Thank you Puddles for sending me back to a much happier time in my life.

Puddles has a way of staring into all of our souls, riding the lyrical wave of his delivery through our eyes, to those timeless moments which allude us, but which he summons with an almost frightful effortlessness.

It’s this self pity party he surprises us with. The purest embodiment of the clown, if I ever saw one.

'anybody could be that guy' shows everything beautiful about Puddle's voice.

Why isn't there 1M subscribers?

Dancing Queen
ABBA
Ooh
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music
Everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet
Only seventeen
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen
You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another
Anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet
Only seventeen
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen
Dig in the dancing queen

Puddles what I admire most about your singing is not just your voice but most important is how much heart you put into the song and your own interpretation of it. It's like listening to a different side of a story that's been told the same way so many times before.

This song reminds me of my father. He died of cancer when I was 5. I remember he took me everywhere I want by car while listening to this song. Thank you for bringing back memories of my happiness. Love your voice so much.

The way that chap both sings, and stays in character is the sign of a master of their trade.
