Ultron assembles a vast army of sentinels which he uses to launch deadly attacks around the globe. This leaves many of Earth’s heroes dead, along with most of its population, and the surviving heroes are forced underground. After infiltrating Ultron’s headquarters, Luke Cage discovers that Ultron controls his sentinels from the future, using the dismembered body of Vision. Using Dr Doom’s time platform, a team of heroes attempts an assault on Ultron in the future. Believing they were destined to fail, Wolverine and Invisible Woman travel to the past to kill Hank Pym before he could create Ultron. Upon returning, they find that they have created an alternate dystopia, and travel back to stop their past selves from killing Pym. Instead, they work with him to create Ultron with a virus, before erasing his memory of doing so.
