this video is just what it says it is.. It might have been even more useful with some discussion about the difficulty of correctly matching the electrical signature of the stock alternator with typically found replacements. Many people just have the factory alternator rebuilt because most aftermarket alternators will work for a while, but will eventually put out more power than the C5 computer understands, and from then on you will have electrical problems.

I am not knowledgeable enough to know if the voltage regulator at the end of this video was a successful attempt to get the electrical system back to normal after the aftermarket alternator, which are typically going to throw a voltage the computer doesn't like at some time. I would advise careful research before changing the alternator, because of so many reported problems from parts store alternators not matching the electrical output the computer understands.

The dealer is replacing my alternator under my insurance, they will replace 1 belt and they said the 2nd belt has a crack and it will be $345 for me to replace e it. Is this a rip off? Don’t they have to take off both belts anyway?
