Hawaiian Diaries: Photographing the Big Island (Part 2)

In this video, I shoot a lava tube called "Pele's Well" near Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii with my Nikon D850. I went back two evenings in a row to try and capture sunset. All music written, performed and produced by my son, Andy Cohen. (ARC on Spotify).

Great subject to photographing Jay and the images still looked great. I know that feeling well with the horizon clouds snuffing out the last bit of sunshine. Happens a fair bit here on the west coast of Scotland but still good to be out none the less.

Another fabulous video and an amazing location J, just amazing! Loved the pool shots of course just a pity you didn't get a tremendous sunset to go with it. Can't wait for the next one 🙏🙏🙏

Great video and images Jay. Even with our the great sunset, you still managed a few really nice images, especially the one at 3:32. I've actually seen someone sucked out a similar hole on Oahu, but was luckily rescued. Scary stuff when people don't respect the power of the ocean. Really enjoying this series.

Hi Jay, Loved your video.I must have watched it 5 to 8 times to figure out where this place is in Kona. I have been looking for the past 2 months to find this place. In the looking process, I found 3 other wells, but they are not so good and safe to photograph, like yours in video. So please can you pinpoint the exact spot, I would be really appreciate, thanks.

Great shots inspite of the sunset not fully cooperating. Last time I went to Hawaii I had the same issue, sunsets were all kind of duds.
