High Velocity Thrust for the radial head in the elbow. This is a nice way to safely manipulate a subluxated or dislocated radial head. Sometimes called nursemaids elbow this often occurs in children when holding hands with a parent or guardian. A sudden pull or twist by the child can causse the radial head to pop out of the radio-ulnar groove. A word of caution; It is low amplitude and the elbow should not be forced into hyperextension. The practitioner requires good palpatory and proprioceptive skills.
