Actually, you pay first at the counter, (maybe RM10 for a bike, if it's a car, pay more) then fill up the tank and return to the counter to collect the balance. Well, it's just that and will be a good experience for you, Ken. Next time

Just follow this steps in case you don't know how much ringgit you need to full the tank
1. Pay Rm 10
2. Fill the gas
3. If the tank is already full before reach rm10, go back to the counter and ask for the balance 😁😁

Since the gas price is fixed, most of us able to estimate how much we need to fill based on fuel gauge meter.

You need to pay more first then take back the change/cash balance after fill up your tank.

In Malaysia we don't say gas, we say petrol.

You can fill up the gas & pay at the same place if there are staff there. You also can pay by card at the pump machine. In spore, you need to fill up the gas, then pay at the counter.

I prefer newer petronas stations (green color shops). Just one tap of my credit card on the card reader and thats it! Start filling. Then remember to "hang up".

for a cup bike normally rm 5 - 7 is cukup
i always use card for a full tank fill. pay at the pump not counter. it's easier

I'm used to filling up and then paying in Canada. So whenever I go back to Malaysia, I find it confusing. Like, how do you know how much you need?😂

to refill car/ motorcycle petrol via cash, u can pay upfront an amount & if u have filled up less than the amount paid, then u need to go back to the counter for ur change/ balance. Worry not bro😊

at petronas just touch your paywave bank card to the pump and just fill up as much as you want it 🤭😁

its not weird. Its easier...if u want to fill it full..u need to tell em and they will make the pump unrestricted until it stop filling when ur vehicle is full..the thing is..malaysia is still low income country and most of the ppl do not fill their vehicle to the full.
