Solution #2 worked for my logitech G435 headset..
The "LIGHTSPEED wireless USB-A receiver was having issues for weeks...no longer being recognized by windows / "last usb device you plugged in has malfunctioned" etc. it randomly worked in other ports but would still disconnect eventually.
I followed your steps, reset my pc, plugged the receiver back into same usb port that was not recognizing, and it instantly worked!

For everyone who this didn't work for, the audio jack splitter plugs worked for me. I don't know what secret stupidity in Microsoft's code causes the mic to suddenly stop being detected by Windows, but an audio jack splitter plug seems to be the solution.
