Who is Chris Janson? He’s a “live legacy in the making” (Rolling Stone). Breakout country star Janson is a platinum-selling recording artist, high-octane entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning singer/songwriter. In the five years since the release of his debut album, the three-time CMA nominee has collected prestigious accolades that place him amongst country music greats. He took home the trophy for ACM Video of the Year for his Gold-certified, inspiring hit song “Drunk Girl,” which also earned the Song of the Year title at the 2018 MusicRow Awards and was named one of the “Ten Songs I Wish I’d Written” by NSAI. His chart-topping, triple-Platinum smash “Buy Me A Boat” earned the same NSAI honor, making him one in a handful of the industry’s most elite artists to earn the title multiple times, as well as the iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Song of the Year. Now it’s onto new music for Janson: “Good Vibes,” the flagship single from his album Real Friends, and follow-up “Done” both topped the country charts and his current single, “Waitin’ On 5,” can be heard now on the airwaves. In addition to his own successes, the talented songwriter has lent his pen to industry peers including Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah,” “How I’ll Always Be”), LOCASH (“I Love This Life”) and the legendary Hank Williams Jr. (“God Fearin’ Man,” “Those Days Are Gone”).

LYRICS:
Bye mom
That's what I said at five years old the first day of school
Already then I thought I was way too cool
I thought I had it figured out
And I didn't know a thing
Bye mom
Don't worry 'bout me, I'll see you at three at the bus stop
And I know that you'll be right there to pick me up
In the old truck

I know that's just the way it is
When you think you grown but you're still a kid
And you don't know you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone

And it's bye mom
You can drop me off down the block around the corner square
All my buddies are waitin' for me just over there
I'll see you later on
Bye mom
It's a cap and a gown in a brand new town eight hours away
Don't cry, I'll be okay

I know that's just the way it is
When you think you grown but you're still a kid
And you don't know you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
And it's bye mom

And bye mom, I sang a million mornings at the Brine Street Baptist Church
And bye mom, I waited hours and hours 'til she got off of work
And bye mom, I stood and cried and laid a rose onto her grave
And bye mom, were the last words that I spoke before we sang Amazing Grace

I know that's just the way it is
When you're all grown up but you're still a kid
And you realize you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
Yeah, it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone

And it's bye mom
Yeah, bye mom

😭😭 I sent this song to my two sons. They don't spend much time with me anymore. One has a wife and kids. The other goes out with his friends and girlfriend. He is 25 years old now my youngest. My health is deteriorating now I don't like to burden them with it. But they know I love them and gave my life for them. My journey in this world is almost over the pain my body is so unbearable but I thank God everyday for my two sons he gave me and bless me with. 💞

I don’t want to lose my mom. She’s my best friend, my confidant, my counselor. I can’t imagine life without hearing her cheerful voice everyday

As adults we understand people come and go. But when it’s your mom it puts like in a different light. I lost my mom 4 years ago and she went out on her shield. Refused all chemotherapy and said “ I’ve waited my whole life to go home and meet Jesus “ she was a peanut but man was she a warrior. Like no other. This is life!!! The joys in the journey ❤️

On 12-29-22 I lost my 82yr old mom in the hospital. She lost her battle to COPD. In my eyes, she was always immortal. I lost my dad 20 yrs ago. I have no family/siblings. I had to go thru the lost of my mom alone at the hospital. Getting the cremation together. Going alone to pick up ashes. Got thru the anniversaries alone. It doesn't get easier, you're just able to cope more. Every single day since her passing I talk to her as if she's still here physically but I know she's with me in spirit. I believe talking to her is the only thing from keeping me doing something bad. The depression is real.

She was my protector when dad left us, I was 6 years old. I was 27 and married when she died of terminal cancer, she was 70 years old. I’m 65 now, she’s been gone nearly 40 years and I still miss her.

I'm 67 and my mom died when I was 8 years old and never got the chance to really know her, but my father was awesome. He brought up 5 girls and one boy all on his own. I miss you dad and love you very much. ❤😢

My momma passed away February 7 1987, it seems like a thousand years since I’ve seen her n heard her voice. I’m 65 now n looking forward to the day we’re together forever n ever. Love her while you can because it’s a loneliness you never get over. She was n is a part of me . My elderly neighbor told me a few weeks after she passed “ your mother is part to of your soul n always be “ I didn’t understand that at the time but I sure do now . She’s with me always. Beautiful song n so true

My Mom went home to Jesus one year ago @ 102. I had the privilege to have her live with me for her last 2 years. She was amazing! Never complained, loved the Lord & her family. I feel so old now that she is gone & miss her every day. I still think about so many things I want to share with her. No matter how long you are blessed to have them it is not long enough & you miss them.

I can understand what all of you are going through. I lost both of my parents. My dad in 02 and mom in 09. It still hurts to this very day. I know they are both in my heart and around me. The pain never goes away, it just eases with time. God Bless all of them and God Bless all of us.

Lost our beautiful momma on 10/02/2021 and it still takes my breath away, when that sharp wave of grief comes, without warning. Embrace your parents, even with their care is exhausting, while you have them. 🥰
