Your comment on hospitals leading the way hits home. Our hospital (HCA) had healthy meals prepared on site. In order to save money they brought in fast food. Very little now prepared on site by minimum wage workers who have no idea how to prepare food. My husband had esophageal cancer. They brought him a thick piece of meat for dinner, nothing else. Our health systems at work. Way to go NY

My favorite man and his books are my bibles. I am so healthy because of following this WFPB vegan way of life!

i have always loved being vegetarian. I didn't even want to stop eating meat. I was visiting my family back home, but was looking into plant based diet on youtube. Constantly fascinated by the topic. I was getting in and out of cabs, waiting for trains, laying in bed at night just learning and learning about plant based diet. The whole time my family would stuff me with pork, beef, sushi, chicken, every day, 3 meals, cuz i hadn't seen them in a long time. After 1 week i was about to get on a plane to go back to my home and I thought "I should take it easy, I've been beating up my system." I ordered some salmon at the airport restaurant. i put one piece in my mouth, and I was going to throw up. I didn't understand why. I ate the veggies and the rice, then I figured Im paying a lot for this fish, i might as well eat it. I tried to take a 2nd bite and was going to throw up. That was the last time i ate meat. My health def improved. I got life insurance a few years later. i thought they would find something like diabetes because I really like sweets. THey said i'm 2nd tier preferred customer. I would be tier 1 if I just lost a litte more weight. I think my brain just figured that we didn't need meat anymore because of what i learned about it.

Wait…one of my heroes was here in Utah? And the medical field in Utah is open to considering whole food plant-based nutrition?

That’s truly wonderful news! 💚🌱

Dr. Greger: Ok, lets open it up for some questions! Yes, how about you?

1st questioner: Proceeds to go on a 5 minute diatribe lecture with no question....

Dr. Greger: Tries to answer as if there was a question

The rest of the questioners: Actually asks

In the pages of wisdom, where health tales reside,
Dr. Michael Greger, a guide by your side.
"How Not to Die, " a testament so true,
Scientific verses, where wellness accrues.

A doctor's decree, in each chapter's embrace,
Foods that stand guard, in life's intricate race.
Prevention's anthem, a refrain so clear,
Disease's retreat, as health draws near.

Leafy greens whisper, in the nutritional song,
A symphony of colors, where vitality belongs.
Kale and spinach, in the preventive dance,
A shield against ailments, a healthful chance.

Berries, a burst of nature's delight,
In the anti-disease palette, a colorful fight.
Strawberries, blueberries, a vibrant array,
In the quest for longevity, in each passing day.

Beans and legumes, in the dietary stage,
A protein-rich chapter, where health takes center stage.
Fiber's embrace, in the digestive ballet,
Disease's retreat, in the nutritional relay.

Nuts and seeds, a nutrient-rich rhyme,
Omega's balance, in the wellness climb.
Walnuts and flaxseeds, in the preventive lore,
A shield against ailments, a healthful rapport.

Turmeric's golden hue, an anti-inflammatory grace,
In the culinary canvas, a spice to embrace.
Cancer's nemesis, in each healing sip,
A medicinal journey, from cup to lip.

Garlic's pungent whisper, a culinary cure,
In the tapestry of health, a taste so pure.
Cardiovascular guardian, in each clove's might,
Disease's retreat, in the garlic-infused night.

"How Not to Die, " a manifesto bold,
In the scientific prose, health tales unfold.
Dr. Greger's prescription, in each word's decree,
A guide to wellness, where vitality is free.

It’s not that hard to eat plants. You have to value your life and your health.

It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools.
Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel.

Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods

Milked plants are not transition foods, but rather - good foods in and of themselves. (Healthy and nutritious in every way).

WHY ALL THE HATE? going vegan (with B12 supplements) is a PROVEN WINNER !
while i am not vegan, my diet is 90% plant based, and i feel guilty eating meat ( Romans 7:15-24 )
when i broach the subject of eating vegan with obese friends and family, it is dismissed out of hand, even when i mention such a diet will heal their various ailments.

Friends of ours eat mountains of meat every day, a great deal of it processed. Sausages, bacon, bratwurst, you name it. Because it's all organic they feel they are as healthy as can be. Unfortunately, they are consuming a tremendous amount of saturated fat, nitrates, nitrites and salt. One has died. Another is in poor health. A third, younger friend is just starting to show signs of ill health. They are confused by this situation, yet continue to eat as little fruits and vegetables as possible. Go figure.

You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health.
Lower stress, reduce obesity and more exercise are key to a healthy life.
Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world.
Fast food and sugary drinks are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity.
Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly.
Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices.
Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly.
Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer.
Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game.
A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility.
Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun.
Every city should be a bicycle city.
Speak up for bicycles in your community
