On holiday in Northumberland, 16-year-old Evan was caught in a rip current that dragged him out into the freezing North Sea. As he fought to stay afloat, his dad and friends watched helplessly from the shore, fearing they might be watching him drown.

im a lifeguard and while this was a great video you should never give anyone a drink after a potential hypothermia rescue, reason being the organs dont function properly due to the body being in shock, likely hood is they will either puke up the drink within minutes leading to further shock increasing the chance of a heart failure or b the stomach will generate ulsters due to the amount of salt water being swallowed, also there is most likely water still in their lungs which can lead to Pneumonia.

Whenever I go to the beach, I never go into the water. I either make a kindom of sand castles or I get in my hotel's pool.

Anyone that is experienced with the ocean will know to swim parallel to the beach. These boys should have been prepared, especially if they knew their beach have rip currents
