Corfu Town: Liston Square , Kapodistriou Street

In 1935, a horse drawn cab containing a newly-arrived Durrell family and Roger "shambled to a halt outside a doorway over which hung a board with Pension Suisse inscribed on it". Former Pension Suisse was located above the Liston.
Kato Plateia also serves as a venue where cricket matches are held from time to time. In Greece, cricket is unique to Corfu, as it was once a British protectorate.
Overlooking the arcades of Liston and the main square Esplanade, is Arcadion hotel.
