I lapsed for 15 years because of the whole "don't ask questions" attitude at the baptist church I went to as a child. Christians and churches need to accept that doubt is normal, and we need to be able to talk about it. It was listening to apologists debating atheists that I admired at the time that ended up convincing me to return to the faith.

InspiringPhilosophy is easily the best channel for historicity studies. He lists all his resources and has given me amazing books to add to the tbr. Good to see him getting acknowledged.

Whenever I start to feel any sense of doubt I think about this: There is no way that a book written over 5, 000 years by 50+ authors and editors with 1, 800 fulfilled prophecies all bread crumbing and culminating in the most influential man in history JESUS CHRIST. (A homeless man who in 3 years convinced a group of 12 men plus some family members that he was God and they believed it so deeply they died instead of recanting it.

I also have a friend who is similar to yours in that he wants to believe but isn’t fully intellectually convinced. We’ve had many conversations over the years and I think he is inching his way closer to the faith. However, these conversations have also served to challenge and ultimately strengthen my own faith and allow me to share it more effectively with others. Doubt can sometimes be a blessing in disguise.

Don’t be discouraged by doubt! It’s okay to challenge your faith because that’s how we make it stronger. As a 19 year old male I understand how terrifying it feels to think God might not care. While I can’t say I’ve seriously doubted God’s existence or the resurrection, I’ve always had issues with understanding why God puts me in the situations I’m in.

My family had been attending a Nazarene church for over seven years when we left at the start of the pandemic, and 15 year old me was left doubting why God would ever take my friends and fellowship away from me. But later in 2020 my best friend, who is the pastor’s daughter, reached out to me via text to see how I was doing. She had no idea at the time but she showed me that God always has a way of making things work out. I truly believe that God was working through her to help me at a time when I was probably at my lowest.

My family has tried attending a Baptist church since but hasn’t gone in like a year or so, but I’ve started reconnecting with my friend’s family at their church every once in awhile and me and my friend are hoping to start a young adults group there.

I havent finished the video but I have to say I am extremely grateful for you talking about this. The fact that this video came out right when my doubts are at their highest - I don't know how to not see that as the work of God.

Has anyone else noticed how slippery faith is? Political views are so cemented, but when it comes to faith, you can be 100% sure one day, and the next you feel all these doubts, even though you were absolutely convinced the day before? I mean even that alone leads me to believe there are strange things at play, maybe invasive doubts from -someone- or -something- that doesn't want you to have faith, or maybe faith is stripped from us so that we investigate things further end ultimately find our faith reinforced, a piece of metal can only be turned into a beautiful sword with some harsh hammering after all.

My old youth leader always said don’t be afraid of your doubts because God isn’t. Great video zoomer!

My dad came from a small town in the middle of nowhere "Goodland Kansas"
He was sent off to the liberal university of KU the Jayhawks. Because they offered the best scholarship.
For the first semester he said it was the hardest time of his life. He was constantly questioning his faith. He started going to the library and a local campus pastors group. And he found that when he was half way done with college his faith had grown higher than ever before.

Sometimes I argue with people about Christianity online to help with my doubts. Because sometimes when you argue against others you will help you find information to win those arguments. And those arguments are often the same ones that the devil uses against you. And you will learn more about God when you research and maybe change someone's mind on God.

Zoomer your stuff has really helped me, I've been tormented by existential doubts for about the past 7, maybe 8 years. Always thought that it meant I wasn't a Christian, I'm somewhat glad to hear I'm not alone. I've never been agnostic, athiest, always feared and loved God but there are those times and thoughts, ya know? I don't know how to describe it, I've never tried before, but just wanted to say thanks.

When I feel doubt, I just remember, that the Apostles died as martyrs for Jesus who they saw with their own EYES, so Jesus Christ is definitely LORD! Amen!!

I remember my season of doubt. As a teenager I asked god how I could know that I was meant to be a christian. How could I know it was right for me. And god's answer was interesting he told me "Go without ME for a time" so for a month or so I lived as if I wasn't a christian, not carring about the spiritual consequences of my actions and to my surprise the guilt was twice that of what I would have felt if I had done so as a christian. That was how I learned that I couldn't live without god.
