Agreed, a great piece of kit. The job goes faster, safer, and with less fatigue at the end of the day. And being a DIYer, you're more likely to bring the board down and trim it if it doesn't quite fit, than force the board into place, breaking a corner or edge. Lifts are currently running about $200 + -(US) (2024) depending on where you buy it and if you can get it on sale. If you need it for only one job, sell it for about 80% of what you paid for it. Cheaper than renting one. If you can find one used, you can sell it for what you paid for it. No real excuse for not using a lift unless you're doing a small closet or a very narrow hallway.

Cheers from America!

Had one of these about 10 years, still going strong. Great purchase.
Extra tip, you can use to hold up your head plate for stud walls as well. 👌

We bought one in France after struggling to board a sloping ceiling. We've done several ceilings since very easily and i can do it alone with part boards as i find full boards a bit heavy on my own. I also used it to fit narrow boards (300mm) between joists. It needed a small mod by screwing blocks onto the arms to lift the boards about 120mm above the arms so they lifted flush to the ceiling between the joists.

Used one of these recently on a ceiling in an old farmhouse...the ceiling was just over 10ft 6 high and we ended up reboarding between the beams.totally agree it's a game changer..we hired one for a week for about £60...only problem I had was I tripped over one of the legs and had a massive bruise on my knee 😂

What if you want to install your plaster board vertically instead of horizontal on a inclined ceiling is it possible? Thanks mate😊👍

Yes they are brilliant, i have one, just need to have a clear floor, i think i paid about £90 a few years ago, so they've gone up a bit but still worth it,

I bought one for £60 second hand, from a couple that done a self build in lockdown, pukka if the joist run out, saves holding it up to mark

creo que es bueno empezar con el cielo luego dejar al final las paredes, pero esas maquinas son muy util, evitas lesiones generalmente de lumbago

Problem I've got is my exact same one didn't have the cable attached and there's nothing in the instructions on how to attach it to the wheel .

Sometimes the little bar that reel slides out on bends just screw 2 bits of 2x1 to eachother threw the slot just to strengthen it up..

Had one of these a few years now. Everyone takes the P*ss out of me using it but saves me a lot of messing about I find. Especially working on my own

I've had one since 2014 just keep a check on the nuts and bolts they do work loose. I wouldn't be without my one
