Gotta agree with ya Kurt, the big square long nose trucks are the best. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and for me, nothing will match those big ol Kenworths and Pete's. ❤❤

I had a W9 back in '07. It was a '01. In '98, I had a Pete 379 with a mechanical kitty cat. Ended my trucking days with a Columbia Freightshaker (all I could afford 😢). Heart issues drummed me outta the corp (lol!) and long story short, I've concluded one needs to be a certain age in order to appreciate these 'ol girls. I think the industry is stacked against the little guys ('n gals) and when I piggybacked the new trucks, it was clear the manufacturers cater to the mega carriers. Only have a couple of buddies left in otr. We're just dinosaurs brother. Embrace your inner brontosaurus and roar with the best of 'em 'cause at least you're free and driving the last, best truck made! God bless you & family! 😊

Now I know why you travel in a limited area. You learned where the best places to eat are in your area! Well done.

I'm pretty sure 99% of people agree with you Kurt. Even as a kid before I knew what any of the models were, I LOVED the 379's and 389's. They just looked awesome! If I ever were to go trucking, I'd take a W900 studio if I was driving long haul and a 389 flat-top sleeper if I was hauling oversize or flatbed. I work in northeast Iowa and on my commute every day, get to see some pretty awesome trucks. It seems a lot of a fuel tanker and cattle hauler trucks are decked out to the nines. I just bought a Peterbilt and a Kenworth hat as reminders of the 389's and W900's. Awesome trucks!

On a side note, it seems like a lot of American manufacturers are taking the cheap road now. Peterbilt, Kenworth, Harley Davidson, GM, Ford, etc... They're focusing too much of stuff that just doesn't matter. I don't need my truck to be a smartphone. I've got one of those in my pocket. I don't need my truck to rumble my butt to let me know that I'm getting close to an object when I'm backing up. That's what the rear camera and mirrors are for. If I ever happened upon hundreds of millions of dollars, I'd start an American car and truck manufacturing company that would focus on the essentials. High reliability, highly accessible parts/cheap repair costs (headlight assemblies that cost $150 instead of $1, 200), extremely comfortable interiors (I don't need side bolsters on my 3/4 ton truck seats. It's not a sports car.), etc... Anyways, I've went on a long enough tangent. Be safe man!

Kurt ...Do you like Mc Ds' sausage, egg Mcmuffin? Of course you do. You can make them in your microwave, heres how. Toast your muffin like you did. Crack an egg into a glass bowl sprayed with Pam, scrambel it some, cover with a paper towel, it will pop. Cook for 45 seconds. When done put on the muffin and add cheese if you want. Next in the bowl put a frozen sausage pattie. I like the Walmart brand, in the frozen breakfast food section, in a blue bag. Heat a pattie for 60 seconds. Add this on top of the egg, add the other half of muffin. Put in microwave for 20 seconds to soften the muffin. ENJOY the entire sandwhich is less than $1.75 Also add season salt to taste.

I appreciate watching someone operate equipment as smooth as you do in your rig.

I am getting tired of the damp cold. For the first time in many years I do not have my patio pond pump running yet. It has been one crazy spring. Safe travels, and God bless.

Kurt there's nothing better than a big ol hood with a 13 or 18 spd manual trans, I'd bet that half of the so called truck drivers out there today can't drive a manual. I know the automated trans are a big deal but I truly feel the manuals are better. Keep first class going and repair as ya need it's a classic ride. I got my first truck in 78 a IH 4300 and loved it I wish I could find another to fix up and show then a 83 359 pete to haul cattle with a lease trailer until I bought a new Wilson double deck bull rack I sure miss them days.

I drove a W990 and it was an ok truck. The interior and dashboard are the same as a T680. What I don't like about the W990 is the exterior styling. The hood is ok, but the cab doors and cab body lines look awful (especially on the day cabs, which we had). It's like one guy designed the hood, and then he got fired and they hired someone who didn't know what they were doing for the rest of the truck.
