Next up on the printer unboxing and first impressions is the Ender 3 S1, the first Ender 3 I have ever owned! In this video, I show you what you can expect in the box, provide my first impressions along the way and also run a quick test print.

The Ender 3 S1 has definitely pushed the price up, I picked this one up for £360, but have seen them over £400 on a number of sites! Is it going to be worth the extra dosh? We shall see.

I hope you enjoy the video, don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE :D

Just bought my first 3D printer the S1 yesterday. I wish I had watched your video first! Very well done and clear instructions. 5 months later and the price difference here in Oz is now about 50-60% dearer than the Ender 3 V2 which means it is very good value.

seeing you handle this without manually levelling all 4 corners like i see some people flat out insist and then for it to work out is genuinely relieving, second video demonstration ive seen
now to prove you can just use the automatic leveling and adjust the z offset.

Good video. With time, I think your channel will grow! You will refine as you learn, but I think you have a nice start. I subbed and will look forward to more videos!

Would love to see you compare the S1 with the anycubic vyper, i am stuck as to which one i should get as my first ever 3D printer. Both are similar in price and look like solid first time machines. But it would be great to hear your expert opinion on them.👍👍😎🇬🇧

If you can, do a 5-point bed level check, I've been hearing some of the beds were warped. Mine was definitely not level, when I leveled all 4 corners using paper, I checked the middle, the nozzle was 15-20mm from scraping the paper.

Defiantly not twice the price of a v2($280 usd). A v2 upgraded to this point is about the same price. Plug and play in about 20 min. I own 2 of these and they are great! But good video.

Basic math says It's not twice the price.

Even if it were. For the same $400 you'd get half the upgrades for an E3v2 that the S1 comes with. I own both.

Callum, thanks for the video! I've been looking at finally getting a printer, and having the S1 be it (thought there was a bit of looking at the Anycubic and Artillery offerings during the course of my initial research).

But it was nice to actually see what the initial actions were, as I was hearing that despite having the auto-leveling feature, a manual bed adjustment would need to be made. At least from what I saw, that doesn't look to be the case outside of doing the z-offset.

Based on your experience with the unit, is there anything that I should be prepared to handle initially outside of just getting used to whatever slicer software I end up using (looks like it will be Cura, since I've been playing with that just for familiarization)?

Based on what I've seen about the unit, including this video, the $439 USD price tag seems quite reasonable. Though instead of the cat, I think the first print might be a custom test cube I cobbled together in Rhino - happy to send it along if you're interested.

But thanks again!
