Bill's humility as an interpreter of this classic song on full display here. Every note in service of the beauty of the composition. Not sure I’ve heard a more perfect guitar arrangement- ever.

The little waltz at the very end on a Db major/b5 is pure Bill and pure gold. ❤

I love Bill Frisell! There are so many astonishing players around but he touches my soul always. ❤️

The age on the natural finish of that ES-175DN is perfecto ...oh and Bill Frisell is the best thing to ever happen to that so deserved vintage Gibson. <3

Beautiful.
Edit: I have listened to this a few times now, it is just so very very good.

Thanks for capturing this performance. Just incredible. Sounds like something in between jazz and contemporary classical guitar. This tune has to be treated with reverence, and Bill Frisell does that while telling the story of the song.

How did you not focus the camera before recording this???

Frisell sounds awesome as always.

Bill was a lad of 11 yo when this guitar was built. I guess it's true, they don't build'em like they used to. True of guitar...true of Bill!

They don't call them standards for nothing. And I include some Christmas tunes in this category. The only person who's really been contributing to standards in the last 30 plus years is Tom Waits. His melodic constructions are rich, indeed.

Yeah, the real master makes it happen without any effects. It think there's even no or very little reverb.

What is that clicking and clacking sound in the background? Very distracting.
