"Lucifer" in Latin literally means "Bringer of light"

Lucifer being a “LightBringer” is more biblical/mythologically accurate than a lot of the darker and more monstrous depictions of The Devil one might think of. In fact, in the Bible itself, there are AT LEAST 3 or 4 potential “Devil”s that over the years were merged into 1 being (The Snake at the Garden, The “Satan” that plays the role of Gods literal personal “Devil’s Advocate”, and the Great Red Dragon from the last book of the Bible (Although said book’s inclusion in Bible canon proper was always… _Contentious…_ for many in the know).

In pigments, an absence of colour reflects as white.
In light, the absence of colour ends up being darkness (as opposed to black)

Colorless would be made of reign-beaux because white isn’t a color and white lights through a prism make a rainbow. You invert that and you get a rainbow fused together in one becomes white which again is considered colorless.

The text on normal cards, especially early yugioh are great for stuff like this. A few examples:

Rainbow probably comments towards the idea that all light on the visible spectrum creates visible light. Where as when refraction occurs the light breaks down into the rainbow spectrum. So technically adding more light will make it white/colourless
