Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar

Yamaha's F335 gives you that classic dreadnought shape and rich, natural sound at a price point that won't break the bank. In line with Yamaha's reputation for making superior instruments for music students and those new to playing, it's a great option for new guitarists and experienced players alike.

The F335's tonewood combination includes a laminate spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and meranti back and sides. All the pieces come together to produce a sound that's full and resonant, which builds confidence in the aspiring musician, as well as sounds great for anyone listening.

The smooth rosewood fingerboard houses 20 frets of strumming and picking options for any number of new songs to learn or write.

Gold die-cast tuners provide smooth and accurate tuning, with just a hint of flair. While a tortoiseshell pickguard protects the laminate spruce top from errant strums, and gives a bit more style.

And, for those who don't subscribe to the one-color-suits-all philosophy, the F335 comes in black, natural, and tobacco brown sunburst finishes.

If you're new to guitar, or a veteran player looking for an inexpensive acoustic that sounds and looks great, get your hands on the Yamaha F335.

I bought one for $180 at guitar center over a year ago, was recommended by the employee as THE guitar for beginners like me. Still play it every day, really enjoy its sound.

I have an old 73’ FG335 and been playing it my entire life sense my grandfather gave it to me. I also have a few other acoustics, one being a Martin D-28 but the Yamaha is still my most played to date

Just bought one, Tobacco burst finish, out side of the adjustable bridge on my Gibson Humming Bird, these guitars sound surprisingly comparable for a much lower price.

I tried all the guitars under $400 in the room and picked a black 335. I thought the action was ok in height. Don’t know how to describe it properly but I guess I would call it tonal definition. Nice base and treble balance. Did not know the top was a laminate til I got home to look it up. I have a d35 and a j45 studio, and love both. This one is for the beach and I am completely satisfied. My advice is try all the ones in the room and make sure you play your fave twice and are happy both times before buying. Wasn’t looking specifically for black but it was the only choice for acoustic only. Completely satisfied and dying to play it right now.

I'll admit it. I ragged on laminated guitars like the 335. But IMO lots of laminated have evolved into pretty good sounding guitars for
the price. I bought a used one this week which I will give my grandson to learn on. He plays a woodwind in his HS orchestra. He's
super fast on the uptake. His dad bought a Yamaha FG830 2 months ago.

Ive had mine for about 4 months and it is great and i haven't had any problems at all. Ive heard people say u have to tune it often but that hasn't happened to me and I've only had to tune it about once a month

I think the finish may have some effect on the tone. If you listen to the natural finish version it seems to have a bit more clarity. Maybe you could do a blind sound test? :)

I took a chance on a lightly damaged black one from GoodWill at about $30 delivered! I put a $25 JLD Bridge Doctor in it before the bridge was pulled loose and it made a very noticeable difference! Excellent used guitar not like a Taylor or Guild, but at maybe 1/5 the price ??

I have this guitar. I bought it just this weak. But I am new so forgive if my question is naive.

The salesman said the battery indicator light doesn't light up unless the 9 volt is about to go out. Can anyone confirms that's the way the battery indicator in this guitar works? I love the tone, btw.

It sounds like it has 80/20 strings on it. Probably EJ 16 D'Addarios. It seriously needs some warmth. Try it with some phosphor bronze 92/8s. Like Martin Authentics. Otherwise it's way too bright for me. Looking for an inexpensive nice sounding, easy playing guitar for a friend as a gift.

What do you think would be a better guitar overall? The Yamaha F335 Acoustic or Epiphone Dr-100? They're both around the same price point, but im wondering which would be better?
