For someone else that had or has the problem of not being able to connect to your database if you first created it from pgAdmin. Your solution is creating it from the command line, simple as that. I had this problem and thought... Ok, let me try this way, and worked. I really don't know why. The first time I installed PostgreSQL I didn't have these issues, but it happened at the second time. For those that can't create a db/connect through the cmd, make sure you hit 'Enter' & 'OK' after adding the postgres path to the environment variables. I fucked that up and had to go back and redo it.
