Freedom 28 Ketch sailboat clears low bridge

Freedom 28 creatively clears a low bridge at Saint-Anne de Bellevue locks in Quebec. A Ladder ridged to the main mast was used in order to list the boat over 30 degree to ensure mast clearance. Congrats to the captains and great teamwork from many members of the CVSYC Yacht club in Senneville.

Une échelle a été utilisée pour faciliter la gîte de plus de 30 degrés nécessaires pour éviter l’accrochage du mat. J'avais déjà vu suspendre un dingy plein d'eau au bout de la bôme mais cette méthode dépasse de loin la première, félicitation pour la créativité et aussi bravo aux éclusiers qui ont acceptés le transit :-).

nice technique with that ladder ! I think there were some sailboats in Bermuda that used a similar arrangement for hiking boards to help keep the boat level in a breeze, ,,,
