Spoiler alert. Despite a remarkable cast, and deserved top billing for Wunmi Mosaku (who, quite frankly, could read out my shopping list and I'd be engrossed), plus dark stabs of humour, and great writing, unless there is a season 2, this will remain a massive disappointment. Almost nothing resolved at the end.

Hi there. Quick question. Is there a name for this sort of series where it all starts out very mysterious and intriguing and ends up that someone's nan lost a scone at her village dance in 1962? I've seen such a great number of these, always falling for the thrilling initial premise only to end up disappointed worse than if my ice cream fell. Who the shite is this for?!

I struggled through all 6 episodes hoping it would get better but it didn't. It's so slow, I kept waiting for something interesting to happen but it didn't. I wasn't invested in any of the characters and stylistically it was all over the place (they've tried to do a Sex Education thing where cars/homes are straight out of the 80s) and it just didn't work.

Comparing it to Stranger Things is laughable tbh.

It's been described as Stranger Things UK - which only means that it's Stranger Things without the script or the budget for special effects set in a small town populated with mostly unlikable characters and if it was any more slow moving, it would be stopped. Every episode so far, (I've struggled through four), has been a complete and utter yawn!
Edit: And the last two episodes are much the same in terms of pace although we finally find out a few things that have been ongoing during the series. The last episode gets close to us seeing what's really going on but they stop short of showing us what sort of creature they're up against. All in all, an unsatisfying end to season 1.

What an absolute pile of crap. It was very interesting then it ended . Just like that. Needed atleast one more episode. And to all the ones that said oh I understood no you didn't your just saying that because you don't want to admit you didn't have a clue
