Molecularly Imprinted Polymers as sensors

In this #youtubeshort video, I discuss how in my lab we are interested in developing new polymer-based sensors that can replace traditional assays based on antibody technology. The advantages of these polymers is that they are low-cost, robust (stable at different temperatures and pH) and versatile since they can be applied for very small molecules (ions) to larger macromolecules (bacteria). But another important advantage is that they are made using entirely free animal-technology, and therefore have the potential to reduce the number of animals used in research.
