Bolton got riped apart by Colbert. He showed he only held his tongue to sell a book.

His flimsy, well-rehearsed excuses are total BS, meant to fool anyone who will listen.
We are not stupid.
Thank you, Stephen, for not letting him off the hook.

Stephen is one the best reporters there is. He’s just excellent at honing in, getting clarification, being respectful, and quick on his feet all wrapped up in confidence.

Bolton wants it both ways: he says Trump is evil but it's all the democrats fault. I just rolled my eyes the whole interview.

You earned a lot of respect for not throwing him underhand questions, and not just bowing down. Way to apply the pressure. Great interview

Mr Bolton: it was not your call to predict what could had happened in the House or in the Senate with your testimony. It was not your call to judge if the Dem’s strategy didn’t treat well the republicans. It was your duty to testify and tell the truth. The book could come later.

Colbert's interview style was a class act. He held Bolton's feet to the fire more than any journalist I've seen or heard thus far. Thank you.

I like Stephen as a hard hitting no nonsense journalist.

"the American people should hear it" THEY DIDN'T BECAUSE HE DIDN'T TELL IT!

Colbert more aggressive than the "real" newsmen who interviewed him.

Bolton, after witnessing a bank robbery: "I wanted to tell the police who robbed the bank but they were way too pro-bank"

"Its the democrats fault the republicans responded irrationally" Yikes, dude.

"Well, yeah, he murdered that dude, but I wasn't going to testify in court because the prosecuter didn't even mention his parking tickets. And besides, that prosecuter just wanted a conviction for his CV." That's what you sound like, John. Except people don't get million dollar book deals for refusing to do the right thing.

Steven, good job. His deflection is pathetic. No one believes him.

So he obstructed a criminal trial because he didn't like the prosecutors.

He's trying to gaslight America with his twisted logic....He's not that good at it, is he?

He didn’t think Stephen would be so well informed and Eloquent

He talks about Watergate but that was a time when most Republicans still had a spine!

So his answer to why he wouldn’t testify was “I decided to not cooperate with an investigation that I had key information on because it felt partisan” ....?

The decision "I" made is "your" fault. A "rationale" commonly used by domestic violence perpetrators.
