Показать описание
Ancient Minoan Kamares-style prochus decorated with a white, leafy rose. Prochuses were the jugs that Ancient Greeks used to wash the hands of their guests or to carry wine for their feasts.
The original jug is now exhibited at Heraklion Archeological Museum of Grete and it belongs to the most beautiful pottery of the Minoan era (2700-1450 B.C), the colourful “Kamares” wares. Named after the Kamares cave where they were first discovered, they were made in the potteries of the Knossos and Phaistos palace complexes.
