Slide Five - Polestar

The 90's had a very classy approach to hiphop and its EDM derivatives. Jungle and emerging dnb had their dark and heavy scenes where everything was trying hard to be urban and combative. Then you had downtempo and intelligent dnb scenes, capturing a very unique atmosphere with their generic spacey-synths, and 808 basslines. It's really too bad I was a toddler during that era.

I regard 2001-2006 to be my favourite period in dnb, where the soulfulness of the 90's was mixing with more computerized production methods.

But this isn't dnb, this is trip-hop. I need to stop going off into anecdotes.
