Apparently, Master Lock made a special edition padlock for the U.S. Secret Service. I cannot IMAGINE what the Secret Service USED it for (lock up the ice chest?).

Uhm I should have told you about this one coming in. The Secret Service padlock was the old series of Master Lock and it was just a name these series. I heard they are better quality than the newer ones and I was searching for some ever since. This was the first I could find with original package. Keep it safe, please :P

Love your videos bosnianbill. You inspired me to start picking locks and I have to say I have become quite addicted to it. It is very relaxing in a weird way. I have only worked my way up to a Brinks 50mm but each lock that I master comes with great gratification. Obtaining locks is the challenge. I have put a wanted requests on local forums and craigslist to see if I can get a supply of locks built up. Keep up the good work my friend!!

I must say, I have learned so much from you Bill, about the difference between the spring loaded and ones without. And also, when I got so many tension wrenches with my set of picks from Sparrows I was in shock. I did not know I would use so many. Now I get it. The right tool for the job comes into play.

I would rather use that lock over one of the newer Master locks.

Had a rekey and customer had these exact locks on the garage doors. I love when they stamp the code on the lock. makes it easy to make keys.

Yes, I use it all the time. As cheap as windshield wiper inserts are (free), no sense in wasting any money buying them.

Really enjoyed Gibsons Lockpicking Detail overkill!! Was a phenomenal help with wrapping my head around how SPP works. all the while being entertained by his Listen or go fuck yourself attitude. If any one is serious about learning this skill I highly recommend it.

Master Lock filed for the "Secret Service" trademark for padlocks in 1931 and held it until 1992

It's just slick marketing wording on the box. I'd take this old Master lock any day over a new one though for no other reason other than it's American made all the way. Probably 1950s.

Are you using a windshield wiper blade tension wrench? I made one and i love the feel of it! Seems similar to what you used in this.

How do you tell if bottom of the keyway tension will bind up a lock?

First time I have seen the bitting on both the key and the actual lock obviously from more a more naive time

what is a good option for a padlock with a closed shackle of height of  7/8" to 1"? I want to lock up a ridgid job site tool box. I need 2 of them, so I need them to come in a set of 2 so they will have the same key.
