I adopted a blind adult cat once. Its amazing how fast they learn the lay of the land. Within 24 hours she was walking around the apartment as if she'd lived there her whole life

Animals are so AMAZING. When a body part is hurting them and it gets removed, all they focus on is, "MAN I feel SO much BETTER now!!" They don't mourn the loss of their body part, they just move on feeling way better than before. I have a winky cat and I SWEAR, as SOON as her bad sick eye was out, she was ZOOMING across my apartment just the happiest lil kitten. Now she's a few months older and she's absolutely thriving. We had a kitten who was found after his cord had strangled one of his back legs in utero. The foot was completely black and a paper like texture. He was found at like 2-3 days old. At 2.5 weeks old, he had to have an amputation of the remaining leg, up to the knee. I named him Barbossa after Captain Barbossa, since Captain Barbossa had a peg leg. I swear, if he had 4 working feet, it only would have slowed him down lmao. He was adopted as he was a foster for us.
