MediEvil - Speedrun | Any% in 20:58 (Former World Record)

It was a 9 month long journey, but finally the 20 minute mark has been reached.

This run features the new rune smuggle glitch that I found in 2022. It's an easier alternative to the extremely difficult DGS (dragon gate skip). This glitch lets us skip 6 entire levels, as we do not have to collect the 2 dragon gems and the dragon armour in order to beat the game.
The run also includes several other new finds and optimisations that allow the time to be lowered considerably from the old 23:40 WR that I set in 2021.

In this run I am pushing the limits of how low the time can go using the rune smuggle. With the original DGS method there is the potential to save an extra 15 seconds -- if you are lucky enough to get it perfectly.

After watching the History of Medievil Speedruns video, I was absolutely stunned how broken Medievil is and how hard the Any% runs turned out to be.
More appropriate title for that video should be "Getting gray hairs in your 20s, the run".
Your persistence through the history of new skips on this game is astounding!

It's got rapid fire, and you can ricochet the darts off walls to shoot around corners. I used it at the Battle of Gallowmere. After you were slain, I shot Zarok's champion, Lord Kardok, a clean kill through the eye at some thousand yards!

Ive seen the enchanted forest glitch before but never that boatman one or the star rune, that's wicked. Ive seen people fall thru the map at the lake but you can literally just.. hop over the door lol.

I rember playing this at my friends house because i didnt have a console at that time and we always got stuck on the or the hilltop Mausoleum boss 😂 it was very frustrating and now i see your wonderfull video just so u can beat it in 20 min. Btw what emulator are u using?❤ And i rember his dad was helping out when i wouldnt be around and then we were on a different checkpoint

Hello this is impressive speed run :) well I have one question : at 18:00 how is that possible? you have to heal the skeletons with your own HP so they can survive and fight for you, how do you do this? I mean you just look there and they win the fight ... is this some glitch or am I missing something?
