This game is really dark, so I have brightened it up a bit in post.

Every Saturday, I tune in with hope I'll find a hidden gem. This did not happen today. :)

I loved the arcade when I was a child, a nice game inspired in Star Wars environments. I bought the ST version, and after a few plays I quit trying to keep on. Too much enemies and hard as hell, all the fun from the arcade was lost.

In 1987 I've played the arcade machine at the local 'Holiday Park' and was amazed... when I got the ST conversion years later I was VERY disappointed. It looks like proto-Turrican but it's far from a gaming experience like Turrican.

I remember this back in the day and it being a lot better than seeing it today, but back then games were so tough that you needed the balls of steel, and funny with it being so harden by playing games like this I could finish it without a trainer. But then again this one would have you jumping to press "T" before the cracked version of the game loaded 🤣

Really like the chiptune. Has a Menace/Blood Money vibe to it .

”Sorry boys, we’ll have to cut the game in half, but don’t worry, we’ll compensate by adding twice the amount of enemies” A friend of mine had this and I thought it seemed like the coolest game ever. Unfortunately it wouldn’t run on my STE 🥺

Nice video ! :) I had it on my good old Atari STE when I was a kid but I admit that it's a very average port of the nevertheless excellent run and gun/shooter "Xain'd Sleena" on arcade, with a better soundtrack, graphics more colorful and better animation, it would have been much better...and the difficulty is infernal, much more accessible on arcade !

To their credit, it looks like the manually redrew the graphics and did a decent job, despite everything looking a lot chunkier than it had to be. Scrolling is absolutely fine for the machine and sound effects and music at the same time is not something you hear everyday on the ST (and Amiga for that matter). Eventho calling music that 15 seconds one channel loop is a stretch. But they clearly had no clue how to make a run n gun platformer fun to play. If Factor 5 was tasked with the job, then it would have been a perfect port.

Played this several times on the C64 and while it looks terrible on that machine, it plays better.

I remember this and feeling the same way. Disappointing frankly and too hard. I suppose it's possible to do well I guess if you studied exactly how to maximise your chances but not sure I'd ever want to. As you say a bit more polish and it could have been decent. Make's Astaroth look easy

Arcade version was really exciting and addictive. This ST Amiga version is just bad. Controls are terrible and game mechanics totally different from the original game. Such a a shame to waste a great title . ST can do much better.

Well, they tried. They had a decent artist, a decent musician. a pretty good coder, but it looks like what came out was less then the sum of the parts.

Graphics aren't bad at all but looks like it plays like garbage!

This wasn't anything but awful, even on the Amiga (you had music and SFX which were better, though music lost a channel when you fired your weapon), stiff controls blighted both versions and neither any fun to play at all.
