I think we're just splitting hairs here. The major difference is INTJ is better at sticking to plans, and INTP flies more by the seat of their pants. Both are capable of either; INTJs have enough stored information to adapt and INTPs have enough to know when to stick to a plan. Always a pleasure to sum things up for folks; signed, INTJ.

As an INTP, I have some criticism for the individual categories. INTJ should likely not have won the detail category. INTPs have Si as their tertiary function, but INTJs have it as their demon function. Si is considered the most detailed function, and with Ti, the INTP seems to be the clear winner to me. Also, as a Ti dom, I think INTPs have the edge in logical reasoning. And INTPs’ Ti-Si axis should make them win empirical analysis. Next, I think that INTPs who are often less adept in speech, should have lost the communication style argument.

Famous alleged INTPs are Albert Einstein, Bill Gates and Abraham Lincoln. INTJs are Isaac Newton, Elon Musk and Bobby Fischer. Both are star-studded and have many more famous great people.

Nonsense. Obviously INTPs are the more logical thinkers. It's their primary function. Way too many ties on cases where there is a clear winner. INTPs are superior.

I have a question. The INTJ generally sees the big picture first while the INTP sees the small details first. So why would the INTJ be better at details? Just more devoted to strict accuracy than the more lackadaisical INTP?

Intp They're better able to internalize their deduction and thinking/decision process, whereas INTJs may get caught up in the superficial advantages or mechanics of a thought scheme, or be swayed too much by external organizational patterns.

Recently I have more and more the feeling that INTPs are not as logical as they say. Or I just encounter too many INTPs at the moment who simply can not draw logical conclusions from something and insist on subjective truths.

Well I am procrastinative because I delay stuff that needs to be thought about and I am lazy cause I always do my best to do everything with the least effort and time possible. So as result, the time earned by laziness compensate the time lost in tought. The journey is weird, but the arrival is the same. But I'm a project manager and being logical/ having a sense of anticipation and being flexible helps me everyday even tho I admit that I sometimes judge some steps useless cause I think it's just an irrelevant process that hierarchy put as a rule for no other reason than being a rule. Cool thing is results protects me. o/

Great vid I do disagree with communication. Intp v intj are almost the exact opposite in this when expressing an idea.

Intj's are likely to vague and short with expressing the essentials of the topic so the listener probably doesn't think he really knows what he is talking about.

Intp is likely guilty of giving to much information that the listener cant process it and hopping from topics that they see as relevant but to an on looker they don't understand the connection and what it has to do with the topic.

Both will have issues with communicating imo but i would give the edge to INTJ with a bunt straightforward communication style. If the listener doesnt understand they can ask questions to the INTJ to dig deeper.

I don't think the listener will be able to ask an INTP questions becuase of the lack of ablity to stay caught up with their train of thought and bouncing from topic to topic INTPs do. The listener will likely not know what to ask.

I think INTP are more like inventors and INTJ as the master mind who applies that INTP’s invention to make profit in billions. Intelligence and cleverness are two different things to consider.

Excruciating details are the ones dealt with behind the scenes, no matter what personality type you have or hold. There is a point to where if you see yourself battled against another being who CAN see your perspective, yet chooses to deny the facts for some sense of gaining the upper hand in a long drawn out misconception, or misconstruing even, of their personal beliefs, then that is inevitably the catalyst of the relationship. Both can choose to continue the debate, but each knows the outcome and is just awaiting the other to make a mistake in logical fallacies so that they can prove to themselves that they are right overall. If it came down to black and white reality acceptance, the "more open-minded" individual always seems to have the upper hand due to the fact that they see themselves as holding some sort of key that the other can not or does not want to hold, whereas in actuality, the other individual has looked at both fluctuations, determined a valid conformity, and thrown away all other nonsensical information, and then having assessed all possible, perhaps not seemingly probable, outcomes, determine the final judgement of the situation at hand. This is where INTJ's win.

I'm a 150 intj. I know intps are smarter. But they can't solve problems in the future.
