Bushcraft on E-BIKE!? - Eleglide M1 Plus - Assembly, Testing & Review

Hi! I was offered this e-bike to test and review so here it is! It is NOT a paid advertisement and I was honest in my review although I do get to keep the bike so some sort of compensation took place.

I come from "e-bikes/scooters make people lazy" and "if it's not XT/XTR it's not good" train of thought so I was really sceptic about it.

Is it the best e-bike on the market? Nope. Do I LOVE it? Not really. But I LIKE it! It is a solid e-bike with a budget price tag below 1000 euros so I'm happy with it and it's actually fun to ride. It COULD be an interesting new way to explore the woods, one that is somewhat eco friendly and quiet. Or maybe I'm just getting lazy?

If anyone wants to buy it, here are discount links wich are as far as I know for 50 euros. Not affiliate or anything.

I have been riding an e bike similar to this for the last year and a half. I love it. I use it to get into a lot of my local camping spots. It is nice not to have to worry about where to park your car. Plus it is super fun and it still a good workout.

Seems more suited to gravel bike paths, and local commutes, not deep forest lumps and bumps. Nice when you want that extra boost and assist push. Tref was still proving his speed and agility, kicks butt. Great demonstration and assembly video, not easy in a garage let alone in the forest where parts roll away and disappear. Cheers!

Hello Frosty, I think that neither bicycles nor cars have anything to do with the forest. In Germany there has long been trouble with mountain bikers who create illegal racetracks. Many do not want to see that they are harming nature with their behavior. If in the forest then please walk. Greetings to Croatia from Germany, Selfmade.

loads of people now do bikepacking with or without a trailer. me it would be a fatbike and trailer. otherwise its with the feet we go. good review very honest and thats one thing that bugged me when i worked in a bike shop, is how much plastic that cant be reused.

Hi Frosty and Tref, I wasn't expecting this at all, but biking and running clearly forks for Tref!. We're still pedalling here.

Hi mr frosty love your honesty 👍 but the best bike in a forest is actually KTM mines a 450 exc and weighs 113kg but that’s fine until it gets stuck in a bog or deep mud 🤪 great fun I would love to combine the 2 bushcraft and bike day/night in the forest 💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍🔥🥩

Now that was interesting. Can you charge your phone on the battery? 😉Just wondering, how common is riding a bike through the forest with or without power assist a thing for hikers/bush-crafters? I know people use dirt bikes over moguls etc for motor sport competition but not sure what gain there would be for bush-crafters with all their gear! Maybe an attachment for toting your gear? Have fun! Great review!

When you said you were snobby about bikes I hoped to hear your mountain bike was a steel single speed as God intended...but then you say you have a 9kg race rig..I bet it's carbon ;)

I admit, I too have a carbon race bike...
