Kind of a hidden subscribtion there to use that feature since it uses your google account storage and just a single minute of 8k footage is around 800mb.

I never understood the infatuation with 8k. Most people can't even afford a monitor or tv that can play that high of a resolution.

It was true on the pixel 8 too. Their hardware can support it but they lock it. It’s not a HUGE issue APPLE does something similar. But it is not great.

For those that are confused, this is for uploading on social media. Down scaling 8K video into 4K. Looks better than uploading 4K video that's done scaled to 1080P

That's the stuff I can't get behind Google with. Shouldn't have been advertised in my opinion. Don't try to solve everything with AI Google. I love the Pixel 9 Pro though and can't wait to get mine.

A feature that wasn't even needed cz most of the flagships come with the default 8k😂, I'll add more, you need cloud subscription for this feature and WiFi as well.
