The thing about shoehorns is not only to help you put on the shoes but also to preserve the shoes and make them last longer. As you do not bend the heel cup

Swedes do not love queues, but we hate that someone who came last goes first. Justice

I agree it's uncivilized to force cashiers to stand up while working.

And as a customer in Sweden it's the courtesy to turn the ean-codes on the items you put on the conveyor belt at towards yourself so it will be easier for the cashier because they are handling several tons every day.

As a wise person once said ”if you don’t have a shoe horn in your home you’re a psychopath”

the shoehorns with very long handles are one of mankind's greatest invention ...

Shoe horns help preserve the structure of your shoe. If a person is buying a good quality shoe that they intend to wear for some time they should use a shoe horn. If they buy cheap junk and treat it as disposable then they can carry on without the shoe horn.

Haha. Swedes hate standing in line. But we know how to do it and organize it. Because if there is something you don't do in Sweden is to sneak in line. And if you do try that to get a hotdog late at the weekend the person that you skipped will beat you up while the person in front of you will hold you down.
Take the number and go something useful instead of guarding your place in the line :)

The weather and daylight/ darkness ratio gets a lot more exotic in the far north of Sweden. Also Stockholm is not really representive for the rest of the country. The biggest sin a forigner can do in Sweden that might be a ”chock” to an American is to walk into some one’s home with the shoes on.

Sweden is so much more than Stockholm. In the north the sun never goes down during the summer, aka midnight sun. ❤

The distance ”as the crow flies” between Treriksröset in the very north and Smygehuk in the very south of Sweden is longer (1570 km or 976 miles) than for instance the distance between New York City and Kansas City or between Smygehuk and Rome, Italy, so to talk about the length of the days in Sweden is a bit more complicated than to say that it is one and the same everywhere… 😉

I got a 1 meter long iron shoehorn. I'm the master of this house and I will not bend the knee for some god damn shoes, I tell you what.

There is no bad weather, just bad clothes is what we tell our kids/kids in school when they dont want to go it's quite true in Sweden were we dont have trombs and hurricans 😉

6 hour sunlight is in Stockholm, 7 hour in Ystad and 0 hour in the north.

When I was in NY all the cashier were standing but they were talkin with eachother and having a great time but they hardly talked or even looked at the customer paying, so I don't really care if they stand or sit. I found them generally a bit rude. Maybe that's just NY though.
